Dive Brief:
- Levi Strauss & Co. appointed Chris Callieri, Victoria’s Secret’s supply chain executive, as SVP and chief supply chain officer, starting Sept. 15, according to an Aug. 19 press release.
- Callieri will fill the vacancy left by Levi COO Liz O’Neill, who retired earlier this year. At the time of O'Neill's departure, the company said it would replace the COO role with a new chief supply chain officer position.
- "With a proven track record of delivering results at scale, he’s the right leader to strengthen our end-to-end supply chain agility, drive innovation, and advance our sustainability goals — all while delivering exceptional value to our fans worldwide," Levi’s President and CEO Michelle Gass said of Callieri in the release.
Dive Insight:
Callieri takes on the role at Levi’s as the apparel maker navigates global supply chain upheavals brought by ongoing tariff uncertainty and disruptions in the Red Sea. The disruptions contributed to a recent 15% increase in inventory costs.
Callieri will join Levi's executive leadership team and report directly to Gass. His responsibilities include product development, sourcing, global supply management, sustainability, and distribution and logistics.
"I look forward to working with the talented LS&Co. team to deliver strong performance, serve our fans around the world, and strengthen Levi’s position as the world’s definitive denim lifestyle brand," Callieri said in the release.
Callieri has more than 20 years of international supply chain experience in the retail and consumer goods industries, per the release. His role at Victoria's Secret has many of the same responsibilities as the new job.
Before Victoria's, Callieri was chief supply chain officer at Tory Burch, a U.S. luxury fashion label, according to his LinkedIn profile. His other roles include senior VP of product operations at the Adidas Group, where he was responsible for product development, sourcing and logistics for apparel, footwear and accessories for Adidas' style labels.
Earlier this year, the company announced a series of changes to its C-Suite leadership. Levi’s has yet to fill the position of Craig Jones, who held the position of senior VP of distribution and logistics operations before leaving for the premium sportswear brand On, a Levi spokesman told Supply Chain Dive in an email. Jones started at On in March as chief supply chain officer.
