Dive Insight:
In 2022, retail investment firm Gordon Brothers announced a majority investment deal with Nicole Miller. In a release at the time, the company said one of its focuses would be to expand the brand’s “portfolio of licensees and franchisees internationally.”
The partnership with Tycoon is part of that international growth strategy.
“Latin America is a dynamic and fashion-forward region, and with Tycoon Enterprises’ market expertise, we’re confident in our ability to scale rapidly and connect authentically with consumers,” said Carolyn D’Angelo, Gordon Brothers’ senior managing director and head of brand operations, in the release. “It’s an exciting step in building the brand’s international momentum.”
Through the deal, Tycoon will represent Nicole Miller across a range of fashion and lifestyle categories including women’s, men’s and kid’s apparel and accessories, health and beauty, and home decor and textiles, the spokesperson said.
“The goal is to build a holistic lifestyle offering that aligns with Nicole Miller’s brand DNA while being culturally relevant to each local market,” the spokesperson added, noting that the rollout will focus on countries “with strong fashion retail sectors and consumer affinity for lifestyle brands.”
Brand founder Nicole Miller said that the Latin America expansion was especially meaningful to her.
“As someone who has always found inspiration through travel, I’ve long admired the richness, vibrancy, and spirit of this region,” Miller said in the release. “The women here reflect the kind of strength, style, and individuality I design for. To bring the Nicole Miller brand to this audience feels like a natural and exciting next chapter.”
Tycoon was established in 1990 and operates eight offices across the Latin America region, with a presence in Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador and Costa Rica, per the release. The company has worked with several character brands including Bluey and Sanrio, as well as athletic teams such as Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, per the company’s website.
